The 11th Safe Patient Handling & Movement Conference will be held in Florida again this year from March 28th - April 1st. With a faculty of 75 key individuals in the world of safe patient handling, this event will do a lot towards bringing the rest of the USA as well as other countries, up to speed in SPH concepts.

The National Back Exchange are well represented by our very own Mike Betts who is in his final year of chairmanship for the NBE, and Carole Johnson, the public relations officer.

Mike, is moderating a discussion entitled “Practical Tips from Einstein…or other Geniuses (in 3 minutes or less)”. Sounds interesting. Carole will be delivering a lecture entitled Where Next After “No Lift” Handling Policies – a Review of Manual Handling in the UK and its Relevance to the USA. Carole, if you want a

complimentary copy of my South African book where I make reference to the USA system, please give me a shout.
