The latest figures from the HSE statistics look encouraging at first glance. The rate of fatal accidents are down by a significant number. The rate of major injuries is also down for the 6th successive year. Riddor reportable injuries down from last year.

The number of incidences being investigated and brought to prosecution by the HSE was up and so I am sure that they would like to accept the credit for the reductions we have seen.


I don’t mean to be a pessimist, but it might also have something to do with the fact that people need jobs to be included in these statistics...
