Naidex Scotland is Scotland’s only homecare, disability and rehabilitation exhibition, enabling you to touch, test and compare the latest products to aid independent living. Attendance is free to all healthcare professionals, retailers, buyers and members of the public who pre-register in advance.
There are free CPD sessions as well to enable professionals to maintain their skills and knowledge. The programme is listed below. If you have ever wondered, “Who is this Gavin Wright who sends me these newsletters every month?” then register via the Naidex Scotland website and come and meet me on Thursday 15 September.
The pre-amble for my session is described as follows:-
As the weight of the population increases, it is increasingly important that bariatric handling never be considered in isolation. To illustrate, what good would it be to have a hoist capable of lifting your 70st patient, if the sling that comes with it is only capable of lifting 25st? Likewise, of what use is it if your patient mobilises well around the department but when discharged cannot manage the 7 inch step into her own home? This session looks at a systems approach to bariatric handling including legislation, risk assessment, utilising a system of work, policies, training and equipment available.
Hope to see you there. Register via the link below the programme.
