Regular readers of this newsletter will know that we are avid supporters of the ERGOS smartlift. They have a new web site which is worth a look.

Specifically, have a look at the options for purchase. Most people think this hoist is to expensive to be “reasonably practicable”. However, with the option for hiring or leasing, the equipment means that it may be 100% tax refundable, in effect, free to the end user. This would obviously need to be checked out with your finance dept.

ERGOS have also decided to hire out the equipment for short term cases where maybe you have a barriatric patient but don’t have the correct equipment. Rather than turn the client away, or muddling through best you can, hiring the smartlift in this case maybe the best option.

The company can also supply barriatric beds, commodes and wheelchairs.

We believe that this hoist is the way forward in barriatric care. It is worth a look to see how this could help in the real world.
