The e-learning refresher course for safe patient moving and handling instructors is on offer for half price for the duration of this month (December 2010). The usual £85 ($134 USD or $137 AUD) is therefore reduced to just £42.50 ($67 USD $68 AUD).

There is no time limit on the course. Your certificate will be dated and issued on completion. Therefore, if you know that you would like a refresher in March or even June, you could purchase now and take your time over the 9 submissions that must be made to gain your certificate.

As I have just mentioned the course comprises 9 modules. Eight of which require a submission to be made. They are as follows:

Legislation, Anatomy & Physiology, Risk Assessment, REBA, Fallen person, Duty of care, Teaching, and Practical. There is an optional peer assessment form for any who wish to document their practical skills also. The completed form would be placed with your certificate in your portfolio as further evidence of continuing professional development. If there is no-one available who is qualified to offer a peer assessment and you really wish this to take place then you can always buy in my services for this. However, there is an additional charge for this service of £85 + 40p per mile from County Durham (Note to Australian readers, this might prove a little expensive). Bear in mind though, that this is an optional extra and may not be required.

Course materials include the moving and handling instructors course notes 6th edition. The assisting people DVD which originally sold for £100 is available to all candidates who request it for £15 (while stocks last).

Any instructor, university or company, regardless of if they have completed the programme, can also take advantage of the e-learning moving and handling course for care / nursing staff. The usual cost for this is £8 per person. However, it is available for as little as £1.25 (payable retrospectively and with only 25 seats at a time) per person including your own name and logo on the certificate. Training companies and universities can use this either as evidence towards NVQs, diploma’s or simply as a portfolio filler. It can also be used as pre/post course reading or supportive material for your own classroom based courses.

The cost (£1.25) sounds ridiculous. Other companies are charging £25 per person. However, you have been getting this newsletter free for many years. I don’t need to rip people off to make money. There is very little work for me to do when someone registers for an e-learning course. I have already done the ground work with the coding etc. The quality speaks for itself (please see my references on my about page) so I am more interested in little profit per person with a high volume. This way, you get cost effective quality and I get income generating quantity. Both happy.... If this sounds appealing, please get in touch and we can discuss it further...
