There are just a couple of weeks to go until the London Marathon. Melanie Sturman-Floyd, BCA at Norfolk county council, requires your support. Please help her to raise £1500 for the charity Backcare. At the time of writing (31st March) Melanie had managed to raise £438 online including £141 from Nordic Care Services and a further £728 through other activities making a grand total so far of £1162. However, she is actively fundraising via other sources as well. The London marathon: 26 miles through one of the world’s best cities. More than 50,000 runners make their way from the start in Greenwich Park via landmarks such as London Bridge, Canary Wharf and Big Ben to the finish in front of Buckingham Palace.
Melanie completed the gruelling Wymondham 20 miler on Sunday 6th March. It is a difficult race as it is rural with no music allowed. There are no clapping of hands and cheering along the way to keep you motivated. Also, with only 300 runners much of the race is completed on your own. Melanie made it round in 3:45.
Please support Melanie for the London Marathon on April 17th.

I did the London Marathon over 20 years ago and look what happened to me. So in 20 years time Mel, you too can look forward to being fat and bald. On the other hand my wife was 10th woman in the Great North Run over 20 years ago and she is still as beautiful as ever.
Melanies training has now tapering off over the last couple of weeks as she prepares for the big event. She managed the 26 miles last week in 4 hours 45 minutes which she was really pleased with as she had never done the distance before.
Mel is spending a lot of time to raise as much money as possible for the charity and has spent the last 6 months training for the event. You can click the link below to make a donation and leave a comment of encouragement for Melanie. If all of my newsletter readers donates just £1 each, Melanie would reach her target, so please be generous and chuck a bit extra in the pot.
