NICE have urged nurses to organise thrice weekly walks for elderly people to improve their mental and physical well-being.

According to the Nursing Times, GP’s and nurses should organise the expeditions along local routes offering low to moderate intensity walks. NICE say that these walks should be an hour induration including warm up times with at least 30-40 minutes of actual walking. Those in resdential settings should also be assisted say the Nursing Times.
