Ever wondered what an occupational therapist is or does? I’m sure plenty of you know as quite a few subscribers to this newsletter are OTs. The skills for healthy living blog site has had a few comments on the issue.
Entitled “Doing, being and creating a myth” posted on November 6 2008, the article goes into some depth as to the definition of an OT. The writer, referred to as “Adiemus”, mentions how her blood boils from time to time over perceived meanings of occupational therapy.
The writer has a good old rant about Galileo, witch burnings and the true nature of occupational therapy as she see it. You don’t have to be an OT to enjoy this read. The writer obviously knows her stuff and is articulate enough to be able to put it across in an interesting way.
There is also an OTs only section.
