The Enniscorthy Guardian reported that an elderly woman died in hospital almost 2 weeks after a fall in a corridor of the nursing home she lived in.
Staff heard Eileen Murray aged 94, fall at about 5:30 in the afternoon. When they approached her, although she appeared to have hit her head, she was lucid and responsive. She was taken to bed and checked regularly but had to go to hospital later that night.
The death was recorded in part as a result of cerebral trauma as a result of the fall.
