Sondra Butterworth Msc. Bsc(Hons). RGN. PGCE. PG cert back care. but not quite OAP, is staging her PHACS (patient-centred handling and assessment in challenging situations) course in Warrington, Cheshire, later this month.

Sondra encourages patient handlers to get away from the, “this is the way we do it” approach and to adopt a more person orientated approach. She looks at how human rights and the mental capacity act should influence the manner in which a person is dealt with from a handling perspective. That is not to say that other organisations don’t advocate a similar manner, but Sondra has a remarkable manner about her which elevates this concept to a higher priority than any other trainer I have ever come across.

Her dynamic and lively approach to her training makes this a day well worth attending for anyone who can make it. Other dates and venues are available.

The cost of attendance is £170. However, if this is too much for you, or you don’t live nearby, or if you don’t have a whole day to take out of your schedule, you could do her e-learning course for just £50.
