We are a group of Moving and Handling / Back Care Advisors for

Carers (family, friends, neighbours). We work across Surrey supporting carers in all aspects of moving and handling. Close liaison with Social Care, Health and Voluntary organisations is an important part of our role.

As a professional group, we are seeking to raise the awareness of carers’ moving and handling needs.  They sometimes care in isolation, with limited equipment and in difficult environments.

We aim to promote best practice. We meet several times a year working together

to produce documents such as risk assessments, carer teaching aids and a booklet in addition to providing a good support network for each other.
