A nursing Home director, Suzanne Ruddell, who was described as caring and compassionate, was sent to jail for 19 months today for the death of a patient in her care.

The patient, 60-year-old Linda J. Ober, broke both her legs when she was dropped while being transferred from a wheelchair to her bed. She wasn’t transferred to hospital for 5 days but died one week later.

Mrs. Ober’s daughter said that she had heard a lot of people say how compassionate and caring the defendant was and she didn’t doubt that fact, she just wondered where that compassion was when she dropped her mother, or the next day when she failed to get help, or the next day, or the next day......
