Take up of the Bradshaw Bariatric bed launched in 2006 has exceeded all expectations, with the robust electrically profiling bed now established as the market leader in this sector, catering safely for patients weighing up to 50 stone (320kgs). A redesign of the structure has enabled Sidhil to upgrade the bed to incorporate extra-low access, with the variable height function now ranging from a low of just 203mm (8”) to 597mm (23.5”).
The bed is supplied complete with integrated siderails, with kneebreak and backrest movement and height variances controlled by a simple touch button handset. Infinitely variable Trendelenberg and reverse Trendelenberg positioning is included as standard.
Sidhil also manufactures a dynamic mattress designed for use with the profiling bed frame. Suitable for Very High Risk patients (Therapy Grade IV). The mattress operates with a 15 minute cycle for optimum effectiveness in pressure care, using circular air cells and incorporating an integral foam under layer with built in hip and knee hinges, which also gives added stability when entering or exiting the bed.
A special visco-elastic foam mattress is also available, as standard foam is not considered suitable for the bariatric environment.
In support of the bariatric bed and mattresses and in response to feedback from focus groups on the very specific needs of bariatric clients, Sidhil offers a selection of additional options and performance features designed to further assist clients and carers alike.
These include bariatric chairs, grab handles fitting securely onto the frame of bed, siderail height extensions for optimum safety and bed extensions to cater for taller occupants.
