Contrasting with the previous story, I found this little snippet from Australia.

An Australian Newspaper

THE number of Playford Council staff taking time off work due to injuries is nearly four times the rate of other metropolitan councils.

The council recorded 15 lost-time injury cases in 2010-11, according to it annual report released last month.

It was double the number of injuries in 2009-10 and considerably higher than other similar-sized councils.

The report attributed the injury surge to an increase in the number of mental health, recurrent injury and sprains and strains claims.

Playford CEO Tim Jackson said in a statement the council had introduced new manual handling training in June and counselling was available to its 420 staff and their immediate families.

“Our number one commitment is the health and wellbeing of our staff,” Mr Jackson said. “We do not want to stigmatise any staff member and we are currently working through these issues with each individual on a case-by-case basis.”
